The first day will be dedicated to exploring the wild flower pastures of the Apuseni mountains.
Starting from Cluj, we will head to the Apuseni mountains, and we’ll start our exploration at the foot of the ruins of a medieval fortress, where the calcareous soil is perfect for the development of a rich variety of wild flowers.
Continuing the adventure into the Apuseni Mountains, we drive to nearly 1000 meters in altitude, unveiling a region of hay fields just before the mowing season. These wetter pastures offer an opportunity to encounter delicate wild orchids. The area is a spectacle of beauty; we’ll arrive at a panoramic point, providing a stunning view of the entire Aries Valley with the distant peaks of the Apuseni Mountains. Here, we can witness the cows grazing serenely among thatched roof wooden huts, completing the picturesque scene
As the day draws to a close, we can have walking tour through one of Transylvania’s most charming villages nestled at the base of the Apuseni mountains. Here, we’ll treat ourselves to a delightful traditional Szekler lunch. Or, for the more active tourists, an optional 2-3 hour hike awaits on one of the peaks overlooking the village, promising a unique perspective of the charming landscape and an opportunity to marvel at the vibrant array of wildflowers.Malancrav manor
