Behind the travel agency Romania Guided Tours are my dreams and work, Florin Ionescu.
I have higher education in the financial-banking field, and I have been working in the field since graduating. Here you can see my profile on Linkedin and here , my personal profile on Facebook.
My journey into the world of tourism began in 2012 when I aimed to merge my love for travel, especially hiking, with a career path as a tour guide, blending enjoyment with utility. I was still working in the banking system and I didn’t imagine then that at some point I would leave the bank to dedicate myself entirely to tourism. Slowly, what started more like a hobby, became an increasingly serious activity. During the summer especially, I spent almost all the weekends organizing trips for foreign tourists visiting Sibiu and its surroundings. This is how the idea to start a travel agency organizing holidays for foreign tourists interested in discovering our country sprouted in my mind.
In 2018, after 13 years of working in the banking system, at the same bank (that’s loyalty :)), I took the final step towards tourism and set up the Romania Guided Tours travel agency.
We are not a classic agency, in the sense that we do not intermediate tourist packages of other tour operators. We do not sell holidays in Greece or Turkey. We organize, from the smallest details, our stays in Romania.
We offer, by our own means, both tourist transport (see the minibus below) and specialized guiding ==>. Guiding is the central element of our services because we want the holidays organized by us to be a relaxing experience of learning and knowledge. And you don’t even realize how many things are to be discovered in our country! :)
Our holidays are 100% customizable. We’ve listed a few of them on the site, but we can adjust them to suit your needs.

In our desire to promote sustainable tourism activities, we have become members of the Ecotourism Association of Romania and the Colinele Transilvaniei, an entity that promotes ecotourism in Transylvania. We are longstanding collaborators of the program initiated by the Sibiu County Tourism Association, called ‘Years of Hiking,’ through which we organize hikes inviting tourists to discover the charm of the villages and mountains in Sibiu County.
Recently, under the umbrella of the Ecotourism Association of Romania, we participated in the ‘Destinations‘ tourism fair in London, where we promoted our ecotourism offerings to the British audience.
We learn and strive to become better every day. In this regard, we have applied to the European Union’s ‘LookUp’ program, through which we receive assistance to improve the sustainability of our business and gain access to various training programs and certifications in the field of sustainable tourism.
